Cameron Cup

The CAMERON CUP was donated in 1910 by D.E. Cameron Esq, merchant of Maryhill to the eight local clubs and this led to the formation of the Forth and Endrick Football Association. The cup has been played for each year since then with breaks in 1915-1919, 1941-1945 and 2020.

The original tournament in 1910 was knock-out competition modified the following year to a two-leg knock-out tournament. In 1912,1913 and 1920 the Cameron cup was awarded to the winners of the League competition, Vale of Leven winning in each of these years. In 1996 Blanefield Thistle became the first club to win the Cameron cup in three successive years, a feat equalled by Killearn in 2007 and by Balfron Rovers in 2017

A league competition to run along with the cup competitions was introduced in 1921. In 1928 the LESLIE ROSE BOWL was donated to the Association by the Rev George N Leslie of Kincardine-in-Menteith Parish Church for presentation to the League champions.

It was been played for each year since except 1941 to 1945, up until 2018 when the Donald Beaton League Trophy was introduced to be awarded to the League Champions.

Following the sad passing in May 2017 of Donald Beaton who had been League Secretary for 40 years, a new League Trophy was kindly donated by Cameron Trophies in the name of Donald A. Beaton.

Donald had a long-playing career with Killearn FC before taking up the post of League secretary in 1978, he was also involved in various posts with the Scottish Welfare Football association.

The TELFER CUP was donated to the Association in 1979 by Ian Telfer of Aberfoyle who had been a Referee for 25 years. It was presented each year to the winners of a knock-out competition for the four teams with the best league results in the FORTH and the ENDRICK sections.

Currently Aberfoyle Rob Roy, Buchlyive Utd, Deanston, Gargunnock and Kippen compete in the FORTH section

It was awarded annually to the winners of a knock-out cup competition for the teams which failed to reach the semi-finals of the Cameron cup until 2021 where it was awarded to the club who finished “top” of the bottom half of the final League table.

The Margaret White Trophy was donated to the Association in 1982 by Colin White from Glasgow who refereed in the Association for many years and was regularly accompanied to matches with his wife. When Margaret was tragically killed in a car accident, Colin gave a trophy to the Association in her name. This was awarded to the winners of a knock-out cup competition for the four teams which topped their section of three.

This trophy was competed for until season 2019 and hopefully be competed for again in the future in perhaps a new format.
